Gratitude is not your typical hotel. We do our best to represent ourselves and the house faithfully. Please ensure you have taken a close look at the room pictures/details before beginning the booking process. Booking and payment is considered an agreement to our House Guidelines and Terms of Service detailed below.
Front Desk/Reception hours: 8:30am-8:00pm. If you are calling outside these hours please leave a message/email with your phone number and we will reach out to you once the Front Desk is open.
Check-Out: 11am and Check-In: 1pm

CHILD policy : Children below the age of 13 are not accommodated in order to maintain the harmony and serenity of the ambience at Gratitude. Exceptions can be made based on room availability and agreement with the parents. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org before booking with a child.

-Our rooms are uniquely designed. Twin Bed setup or Extra Beds may not be available in every room. Please check the specific room details (link to Rooms page) before booking.
-Free WiFi is available. There are no televisions or intercoms in our rooms.
-All rooms have air-conditioning, attached bathrooms with hot & cold water. Only Room #6 has a bathtub. We also provide brass buckets with home-made ----Natural Scrub if you'd like to experience the traditional Indian bucket bath.
-Bathrooms are provided with fresh towels & bathing accompaniments. To reduce waste and our environmental footprint, we provide Toothbrush and -------Shaving kits upon request only.
-Safe Deposit Lockers are available in every room.
-Luggage Storage is available, if you are staying more than 2 nights we recommend unpacking fully and giving us your empty luggage to store away
-Breakfast is between 8:30am-10:30am. If you'd like an earlier/later breakfast or have dietary restrictions please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.
-Lunch/Dinner: We do not have a restaurant, but we offer private dining to our guests only. For Lunch or Dinner please let us know at least 3 hours in advance for a delicious home cooked meal. The menu will be tailored to your liking and chargeable separately.
-You can order food from outside, we discourage eating in the rooms and encourage guests to use our dining area and crockery.
-We do not serve Alcohol, however you may purchase your own from outside shops and use our glasses etc.
-There are no Tea-trays in the rooms, instead there is a 24/7 self-service in the dining area. Complimentary tea/coffee can be requested fresh from the kitchen until 7:30pm.
-There is no room service.
As is the tradition in India, we request all guests to take off their outer wear shoes at the main door and leave it on the racks. We provide indoor footwear in the rooms. You can use your own indoor footwear or socks.
-We love children and their free spirit so we believe it would be unfair on them to ask them to stay quiet. Hence we do not encourage guests with children who can/may/will be noisy. Please do not request us to bend the rules on this issue.
-Pets are generally not allowed. You can email us for an exception request in rare circumstances.
-We believe that to feel at home, you need to unpack and put away your suitcases. So if you are staying for more than 2 nights, as soon as you check in, you will be requested to unpack and put away your belongings in the cupboards provided and we will store your empty luggage away. This will keep your rooms clean and give you more space. You can have your luggage back the day you check out.
-Swimming Pool is available at our sister property 2km away. Gratitude guests can schedule an 1 hour slot of exclusive/private use of the pool at an additional charge and subject to availability. Please ask the Front Desk to schedule your swimming sessions.
-In-House Massage with Male or Female masseuses is available at our Massage -Room on the terrace. It is a traditional Indian oil massage, not Ayurvedic.
-Laundry is available in-house at nominal charge.
-There is a well-stocked Library open during the day. Board and Card games are also available.
-Yoga classes on the terrace can be arranged, subject to availability of the Yoga teacher.
-Our Front Desk offers basic concierge services. Feel free to ask about anything in and around Pondicherry and we'll do our best to help you with it.
All rooms and courtyard areas are non-smoking. Smoking is allowed only in the designated area on the terrace.
Gratitude is a peaceful place, enjoy the space but please respect the noise level and disturbances to other guests.
-Taxis and Airport Pickups can be arranged from our Front Desk, these services are chargeable separately. Please call or email us with your transportation requests.
If you are arriving outside of the Front Desk hours, your key and Welcome packet will be with the Night Watchman who will show you to your room.
-Early Check-In/Late Check-Out is only possible by request if the room is available the night before. You can leave your luggage and use our common areas while your room is prepared.
-There is no private parking. Street parking is usually available in front or near the house, we park our own vehicles there so it is generally safe but of course all public parking is at the vehicle owner's risk.
-While we have CCTV cameras covering all external areas of the house, you will be responsible for your own belongings in the rooms. Safety Lockers are provided.
-Night Watchman is on duty from 8:00pm to 8:00am. There is no curfew, the front door may be closed after Midnight but just knock and the Night Watchman will open it for you
If you need any help after 8:00pm please ask the Night Watchman, usually one of the owners also stays at the property in case of emergencies.
-Please do NOT tip the staff individually as there are several behind the scene who may not be visible. Please ask for an envelop at the Front Desk and drop it in the box at the entrance.
